General Terms and Conditions

 

We are Vecta Travels Limited and we look forward to the opportunity to act as your booking agent for your travel needs. The following terms and conditions, which may be amended from time to time, form the basis of your contract with Vecta Travels Limited and they apply to the person making the booking and all other persons on whose behalf the booking is made. It also applies to all our services directly or indirectly (through distributors and suppliers) made available online, through any mobile device, email, telephone or other means of communication.

 

By asking us to confirm your booking on any of our platforms (hereafter collectively referred to as the "website"), we are entitled to assume that you have read these terms and conditions and agreed to them.

 

All contents and infrastructure of these pages, and the online reservation service provided on these pages and through the website are owned and operated by Vecta Travels Limited and are provided for your personal, non-commercial use only.

 

In using the terms "we", "us", "our", "website" and "Vecta Travels Limited" we refer to Vecta, and/or our subsidiaries. The term "you" refers to the customer visiting the website and/or booking a reservation through us on our website, or through our customer service agents.

 

Please do not use this website if you do not accept all of these terms and conditions. Be sure to return to this page periodically to review the most current version of the agreement. We reserve the right at any time, at our sole discretion, to revise this agreement without prior notice, and to withdraw or restrict access to the use of this website in whole or in part at any time also without prior notice. Your continued use of the website signifies your acceptance of the updated or modified Agreement and does not create an employer/employee relationship, a joint venture shareholder agreement, a memorandum of understanding or a partnership agreement.

 

You must be at least 18 years to use this website and must meet all the legal requirements for using this website.

 

Office hours

 

We are open on Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 10:00pm, Saturday and Public holidays from 10:00am - 6:00pm, Sunday from 2.00pm - 6.00pm.

 

Third Party Service Providers

 

We sell a variety of travel related products from different Suppliers and service providers. Each Supplier has its own terms and conditions that are applicable to your particular arrangements in addition to our general terms and conditions, and you should make sure you understand them.

Some contents on this site contain material in the form of information, price quotes or representations submitted by Third Parties and we accept no responsibility for the content or accuracy of such material nor do we make any representations by virtue of the contents of this site in respect of the guaranteed availability of any services advertised.

 

Pregnancy and Children

 

If you are pregnant, you need to check with your preferred airline as some airlines refuse to carry women who will be 28 weeks or more pregnant on the date of return for their travel. It is recommended that you consult with your doctor to certify you fit to travel.

 

Infants must be 6 weeks old or more to travel by air and must either sit on an adult's lap or occupy an infant seat. Children aged 2 years or more must occupy a seat. A child must be under 2 years of age on the date of their return flight to be entitled to the infant fare. A child must be under 12 years of age on the date of their return flight to be entitled to the child fare.

 

Booking Enquiries and Reservations

 

We display prices based on live and static pricing as provided by the Supplier. Sometimes, Suppliers sell out, alter or withdraw prices including advertised special rates. If prices, rates or inclusions vary from your quotation or from an advertised price, we will advise you of any change prior to your booking request and any transaction being processed. If you do not wish to proceed with the booking at the new price, you may cancel the booking request at no cost to you.

 

Once you have made payment and your ticket, voucher or travel document is issued to you, any new specials released cannot apply. Prices and rates may vary in the event of changes in exchange rates or price rises made by Suppliers. If the cost of any service increases due to exchange rate fluctuations, price increases, tax changes or any other reason, you are required to pay the increase when notified by us or you may cancel the booking. We are not liable in any way if any increase occurs due to any of these factors. All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice.

 

Prices

 

Prices of services will be as displayed on the website when a search is done, except in cases of obvious error. Prices are liable to change at any time as provided by Suppliers. Prices are quoted in Nigerian Naira (NGN). Sometimes, Suppliers may quote in US Dollars (USD).

Airlines may charge for additional services such as excess baggage, airport check-in, preferred seating, in-flight entertainment (if available), food, drink and snacks etc. Any charges for these additional services are not included in the price of your flight ticket and must be paid to the airline directly.

Some hotels may also have extra charges in terms of taxes or other forms. These charges are not included in the price of your hotel and will be paid directly to the hotels by you.

 

Payment

 

Before the payment process has been finalized and we have received payment, Vecta Travels has no obligation to provide any tickets, vouchers or other travel documents to you. In any case, you are liable for the full fare of the services and products requested.

You are required to make full payment after booking is confirmed. Payment can be made by Credit/Debit card on our website, Electronic Funds Transfer, Cash Deposit at a bank, Cash Deposit at the office or Quickteller, whichever is applicable. If the full payment is not received by 10pm on the day that the booking was made, Vecta Travels or Third Party Service Provider (as the case may be) will not be held liable for increment in prices.

 

It will be your duty and obligation to ensure the protection of your Credit/Debit card, Personal Identification Number (PIN) and all such other details of your Credit/Debit cards as Vecta Travels will not be held responsible for the unauthorized use, theft, loss of details in your Credit/Debit card and for payments made to unauthorized bank centres, cash centres, personnel fraudulently representing Vecta Travels. You further agree not to take any action against Vecta Travels in cases that may arise out of such situations.

 

While making your reservation, you are required to ensure that the names provided are as they appear on your passport. All tickets, vouchers and travel documents must be checked the same day it was issued. If you cannot see your travel document in your inbox, check your junk folder or contact our customer service agents. Some airlines will not permit name changes due to non-changeable/refundable tickets.

 

Once a booking has been confirmed and a ticket, voucher or travel document is issued, any necessary changes will result in additional charges as permitted by the supplier. When using a third party Credit/Debit card for booking, proof of documents may be required: a copy of the Credit/Debit card front and back, a copy of the cardholder’s driver’s license or international passport front and back, and written confirmation from the cardholder. All fraudulent purchases will be investigated and duly prosecuted.

 

For bookings/reservations made by telephone or via email, you must check tickets, vouchers and travel documents the same day as issued. Always check your inbox and junk folders. Special attention must be made when checking the spelling of passenger’s names, dates and timings of flights booked and the confirmed fare. Failure to check travel documents the same day as booking was made, makes you liable for any errors.

 

To guarantee the fare on your booking confirmation, full payment must be made the same day before 10pm. Failure to pay the same day may involve paying a higher fare.


 

Insurance

 

Travel insurance is a vital part of your travel arrangements. There are different types of travel insurance packages available and the purchase of insurance is your optional decision. However, we strongly recommend that you take out adequate insurance such as cancellation due to illness, accident or injury, personal accident and personal liability, loss of or damage to baggage and sports equipment (this is not an exhaustive list) for the duration of your journey. We will not be responsible or liable if you fail to take adequate insurance cover.

 

Please note that we are able to arrange travel insurance to be provided to you. In the event that a policy is bought, the insurer will send the policy to you. Claims must be submitted directly to the insurance company in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy. These terms and conditions are accessible during the booking process. Vecta Travels shall not be obliged to obtain separate cover for any risks so excluded. Should the insurers dispute their liability for any reason, you will have recourse against the insurers only.

 

 

Passports, Visas and Health

 

It is your duty to check that the necessary travel documents to enter the countries on your itinerary are obtained. Vecta Travels will endeavour to assist you but such assistance will be at our discretion and you acknowledge that in doing so, we are not assuming any obligation or liability and we are indemnified against any consequences of non-compliance.

 

You are required to check the relevant requirements before travelling. You must have a valid passport for international travel. Many countries require at least 6 months validity from the date of return.

 

It is entirely your responsibility to ensure that your visas are current, valid and obtained on time and that any vaccinations, inoculations and the likes, where required, have been obtained.

 

 

Refunds, Changes, Cancellation and other service Fees

 

In the unlikely event of there being an unscheduled extension to the final itinerary caused by flight rescheduling, flight delays, bad weather, strikes or any other cause which is beyond the control of Vecta Travels, Third Party Service Providers or our Suppliers, it is understood that expenses relating to these unscheduled extensions (hotel accommodation etc.) will be for your account. While every effort is made to keep to the final itinerary, our Suppliers reserve the right to make changes intended for the client's convenience e.g. in some cases, weather conditions can necessitate an alteration in the itinerary. This does not constitute any reason for a refund. It is your duty to check each amendment to your itinerary.

 

Refund, cancellation and change requests, where applicable, are subject to third party policies, plus a variable service charge depending on the service requested. Service charges cover the costs incurred by Vecta Travels in booking and servicing your travel reservations. This is charged in addition to any fees charged by the Supplier and other Third Party Service Providers. Cancelation fees can be up to 100% of the cost of the booking, regardless of whether travel has commenced. In the event of cancelling a booking, Vecta Travels shall have the right to either claim an amount or to retain an amount of the payment as cancellation fees payable to Vecta Travels. Mode of refund is dependent on the mode of transaction used for payments, like all card related refunds will be processed in the same card post deductions. We will not provide a refund to you until we receive the funds from the relevant Supplier.

 

Where we incur any liability for a cancellation fee or charge for any booking which you cancel, you agree to indemnify us for the amount of that fee or charge.

 

 

Prepaid Hotel Reservations

 

Hotels may attract different service fees based on hotel type and amount. You should be able to confirm reservation changes where you fail to turn up, and must do so in not more than 24hrs or face the risk of having your reservation cancelled, as there are various cancellation policy periods for different hotels. Areas and locations have their different tax rates and in paying tax amounts, there could be slight differences from tax recovery amount.

 

Where you choose to cancel or alter your prepaid hotel reservation, you might be charged for such changes subject to the rules of the hotels for such changes and agree to pay for such changes as may occur. Once your hotel reservation request(s) have been lodged, you authorize Vecta Travels to make hotel reservations on your behalf based on the room rates displayed on our website and on the availability of reservations, which will include payment arrangements, services fees, tax recovery charges. You are mandated to make back payments for early checkouts or no shows within days after checking out.

 

 

Check-In/Check-out Times

 

Recommended Check-in time for flights is 3 hours prior to flight departure. The times shown on your ticket are the departure times of the aircraft and are according to the time of the local country you are travelling from. Check-in for hotels is generally 2pm and check-out, 10am.

 

Flight times may change due to air traffic control restrictions, weather conditions, operational/ maintenance requirements. We are not liable if there is any change to a departure/arrival time previously given to you or shown on your ticket or for any other alteration to your flight by the relevant airline.

 

 

Baggage Allowances

 

At any time, all baggage and personal effects are the client’s responsibility and we do not accept any liability for any loss or damage of any personal effects. Please make sure you check your luggage allowance with the airline you are flying with before you travel. Airlines often change their baggage information, so it is worth double checking before you fly.

 

Please note that several airlines do not advertise their luggage allowance with online bookings. Therefore, it is essential to check directly with the airline regarding the luggage allowance as this may differ from flight to flight.

 

Extra charges may apply for checked baggage in excess of the permitted allowance.

The copyright and all other protected rights concerning this website (including graphical images, text, video clips, reprographics, sounds, demos, patches and other files) belong exclusively to Vecta Travels Limited.

 

Unless with our prior permission, you are not to display, print or download extracts from this website. Any copies of the pages of this website, which you save to disk or to any other storage system or medium, may only be used for subsequent viewing purposes or to print extracts for personal and non-profit use and you shall not be entitled to commercialise any such material in any way. You may link to the home page of our website, use our name or logo but with expressly written permission.

 

Any permission granted terminates automatically if you breach any of the terms and conditions herein.

 

Your use of any of our services shall not be construed as conferring any licence or other rights under the intellectual property or other proprietary rights of the owners and operators of Vecta Travels or any Third Party, whether implied or otherwise.

 

You will not post any publicly unlawful contents and materials, obscene, pornographic, and defamatory or other material or contents on this website.

 

 

Liability Disclaimer

 

Vecta Travels does not represent that the dissemination of information through this website would be accurate. However, we would take all responsible steps to transmit up to date information. We would not be held liable for erroneous and fraudulent mails sent through our website, servers and company email and we maintain that our websites are free from viruses.

 

In no way shall Vecta Travels be held liable to the extent permitted by law, for any injury, damage, loss (including consequential loss), delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by the acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of Third Party Providers (over whom we have no direct control), force majeure or any other event which is beyond our control and which is not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part.

 

Under circumstances where liability cannot be excluded, and where liability may be lawfully limited, such liability is limited to the value of the purchased travel arrangements. Please note that nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit any rights you may have as a consumer.

 

You need to take note of the degrees of travel risk in each country and also that natural disasters could coincide with your travel itinerary.

 

We reserve the right to change all the contents of this website at any time without notice to you.

 

 

Indemnity

 

You shall indemnify Vecta Travels Limited, any of their officers, directors, employees and agents and Third Party Providers and Suppliers from and against any claim or cause of action, demands, recoveries, losses, damages, fines, penalties brought by you or on your behalf in excess of the liability described herein or as a result of your violation of any law or the rights of your use of this website.

 

 

Governing Law

 

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you do not agree with the governing law of these terms, please do not use this website.

 

Any disputes relating to these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any contentions, claims by you evolving from your access to use this website must be brought within six (6) months from the time which such action arose.
